Frequently asked questions.

  • Imagine carrying a backpack that holds your memories, expectations, fears, and responsibilities. Over time, it grows heavier, and you realize how much it weighs you down. Therapy is the space where you can unpack, sort through, and begin to lighten the load so you can move freely and step into life with more ease and intention.

  • My home base is in beautiful British Columbia; however, I offer services exclusively online via Zoom and/or phone call. My working hours are flexible and scattered throughout the day, as I strive to accommodate the unique needs and schedules of my clients. You can book appointments anytime, between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM Eastern Time (Toronto)

  • In our first session, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy and collaborate to determine the best approach for your progress. Together, we may decide that Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a good fit, focusing on mood regulation, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which examines how your thoughts influence your emotions and overall experience. Additionally, using Attachment Theory, I work to repair attachment styles and foster healthier relationships. Polyvagal Theory helps regulate your nervous system, while an understanding of Structural Dissociation can aid in integrating fragmented parts of your experience. My goal is to equip you with lasting tools to manage stress, improve emotional resilience, and enhance your overall well-being.

  • Individual Counselling - $140 for 50-minute session | $220 for 80-minute session

Professional Expertise: Fees reflect the counsellor’s training, education, and experience in providing high-quality mental health support. Counsellors bring specialized skills to address diverse mental health challenges effectively.

Session Length Options: A 50-minute session is the standard therapy duration, providing focused time to address key concerns. An 80-minute option allows for deeper exploration of issues, extended interventions, and a more thorough session for clients needing extra time.

Client-Centered Approach: This flexible pricing ensures accessibility for clients who require more extensive support, while maintaining affordable options for standard sessions.

    Couples Counselling - $206 for 50-minute session | $286 for 80-minute session

Specialized Skill Set: Couples counselling requires advanced training in relationship dynamics, communication strategies, and conflict resolution tailored to both partners. Fees reflect the specialized expertise and tools provided.

Increased Complexity: Working with two individuals simultaneously adds complexity, as the counsellor must balance both perspectives, identify patterns, and navigate sensitive emotions to promote growth and connection.

Extended Session Option: The 80-minute session allows for more in-depth conversations and interventions to address complex relational issues that cannot always be resolved within a standard session.

Advocacy & Case Management - $150 for the first 50 minutes, with an additional $80 for each subsequent 30-minute increment

Comprehensive Support: Advocacy and case management involve coordinating with external services, navigating systems (e.g., healthcare, legal, or community resources), and providing client-centered support beyond traditional counselling.

Time and Expertise: This service often requires research, communication with third parties, and follow-ups, which extend beyond standard counselling. The pricing reflects the additional time and professional expertise needed.

Flexible Fee Structure: The incremental 30-minute pricing ensures clients pay only for the time used, making it cost-effective for shorter or extended needs.

    Support Sessions - $90 for 50-minute session

Accessible Option: Support sessions are priced lower to offer an affordable alternative for individuals needing short-term guidance.

Focused Assistance: These sessions are ideal for clients seeking information about community resources, or non-intensive support, ensuring accessibility without compromising the quality of care.

Commitment to Inclusivity: Lower pricing reflects a commitment to making information for mental health support accessible to individuals with varying financial situations while maintaining professional standards.

    General Notes on Fees:

Transparency: The pricing structure is clear, ensuring clients understand the cost and value of services.

Value of Mental Health Care: Fees reflect the significant time, expertise, and emotional labour invested in supporting clients’ mental health and overall well-being.

Professional Standards: Rates are aligned with industry standards for counselling and therapeutic services, ensuring high-quality care.

Client Choice: The range of session lengths and services allows clients to select options based on their needs and financial capacity.
