Welcome to,
Seven Rivers Counselling
Court Approved Counselling, Case Management, Advocay & Support
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I am the founder of Seven Rivers Counselling a space dedicated to supporting mental health, emotional well-being, and personal growth, especially for South Asian individuals.
I created Seven Rivers Counselling because I’ve seen too many friends and loved ones, particularly men, tragically lost to mental health challenges. I wanted to build a space where South Asian individuals could come and unpack their struggles safely and openly.
Everything I do is intentional, even the name of my practice. The name Seven Rivers Counselling honors the Punjab region's ancient history, once known as the Land of the Seven Rivers (Sapta Sindhu) in the Rig Veda, the earliest sacred book of India. These seven rivers—Satluj, Jhelum, Ravi, Beas, Chenab, Saraswati, and the Indus—symbolized abundance and cultural vitality. Following geopolitical changes and the Partition of India, the region became defined by its five rivers, giving rise to the modern name Punjab.
This shift from Seven Rivers to Five Rivers reflects not only historical transformation but also the resilience of Punjab's people. It embodies strength, healing, and reclaiming identity amid oppression and colonial legacies. By choosing this name, our practice upholds anti-oppressive values and honors those who resist injustice, emphasizing the role of heritage in healing.
My approach is holistic, culturally sensitive, and the first of its kind to incorporate a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach. I combine professional counselling with a broader understanding of wellness, including reviewing relevant blood tests, exploring herbal and traditional medicines, and incorporating yoga and practices used by my ancestors in India. These culturally informed methods help clients reconnect with their heritage while supporting healing.
I work with clients navigating trauma, stress, and anger, including those who may benefit from court-approved anger management programs. Together, we’ll build the tools and strategies you need to heal from past trauma, manage emotions, and strengthen your emotional well-being. Mental health is a journey, not a destination, and I’m honored to guide you along the way.
